Your Hosts... Dave is an IT specialist and works part of the week in Auckland, where we have a second home. Born in NZ, he is however, as he puts it, made In Scotland - with both parents hailing from there. I have a background in interior design and furniture, as well as experience in sales & marketing. Having lived and worked in London (my birthplace - I came to NZ as a small child) and in Sydney, I returned to NZ in the mid 90's. Day to day running of the farm, and B&B is my role. I Iove reading and writing and may well someday write that book. We both love to travel and know NZ intimately. We are passionate about the Queenstown/Lakes district and regularly holiday in Arrowtown, with many forays into Central Otago soaking up the magnificence of the landscape there. Cooking, visiting farmers markets, dining out, vineyard visits all rate highly too. We share our home with Ally - the tabby garden tiger.
Environmentally Friendly... Here at Riverdale we like to lessen our impact on the planet and look after ourselves (and you) just that little bit more by avoiding harsh chemicals and toxins which we think are unhealthy & downright nasty - wherever practical. Here's what we do: • Use of green cleaning & laundry products - kinder to both the environment AND your skin • We provide Paraben & Sulphate free toiletries • Cotton sheets & linens, wool carpets • Practice recycling, composting & mulching • Organic home-grown produce - taste the difference • Our home is insulated and utilises passive energy from the sun, and we burn firewood from sustainable sources in winter
